Welcome to Blake’s Kitchen Cook Off 2026!

Children’s Wishes is happy to announce this year’s Blake’s Kitchen Cook Off!

Blake’s Kitchen honors one of our Wish Kids, Blake. Blake loved to cook and bake with his Mom and Dad and in our Blake’s Kitchen episodes on Children’s Wishes Live!, we share some great recipes and taste some fantastic food. Cooking brings us all together and now we invite you to join us and the Blake’s Kitchen family at Blake’s Kitchen Cook Off, an annual kids and youth cooking competition keeping Blake’s memory alive and inspiring younger generations to get creative in the kitchen!

Blake’s Kitchen Cook Off is scheduled to take place on April 30th, 2026 from 6pm to 9pm.

Applicants may apply by March 15, 2026. Applicants should be between 8 -18 years of age. For anyone who wishes to participate and is younger than 8 years of age, click the link here to be apart of our Blake’s Kitchen Littles program!

All applicants are required to schedule a 1 hour appointment for an interview and coaching session with a Children Wishes chef/judge. These appointments will take place between the time of application submission and April 1, 2026. A selection process will then take place, with 12 applicants being selected to advance to the final round on April 30th 2026.

Finalists will be announced no later than April 15, 2026. All applicants who do not make it to the finals will be eligible for free admission ticket to the April 30, 2026 event.

Please answer the questions and guidelines below to audition. Applicants may be required to submit more information. Applicants may need to meet with the Children’s Wishes Committee via Zoom as part of the selection process.

Once selected, all contestants should be prepared to meet with assigned Chef Mentors to review their recipe, kitchen safety, and protocols leading up to the competition.

Finalists will be put in either a Junior or Executive Chef Competing category based on age.

At the cook-off, the selected contestants will each prepare a dinner entree. All contestants will work with their coach to procure their own ingredients. Contestants can create any entree and prepare the dish and ingredients however they would like. Contestants will prepare their recipes in a timed 1 hour and 15 minute live competition to present to the panel of esteemed judges. Each completed dinner entree must include a protein, starch, and a side.

The Pantry will be located within the competition space and will include ingredients/materials available to all contestants. A full list of materials that will be at each contestant’s station will be made available upon selection so that contestants can practice at home and prepare for all materials that will be available to them.

Each cooking station will consist of an 8-foot table, cutting board, set of mixing bowls, 1 convection hot plate, utensils and water. Additional materials will be available in the pantry for all to use. If your recipe requires more than 1 hot plate or griddle please make note in your recipe below so that we can account for the power needs at your station.

If selected, each contestant who advances to the Finals on April 30, 2026 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Prizes for the top contestants may include but are not limited to:

– Their own segment on Children’s Wishes Live in the 2026 Season
– At home Kitchen Supplies
– One on One Chef Lessons
– Their Recipe placed in the 2026 Cook Off Cook Book
– Press Coverage
– Winning Recipe will be honored as part of the 2026 Gala meal

– 2 Tickets to the 2026 Children’s Wishes Passport Gala
– Blake’s Kitchen Apparel
– Blake’s Kitchen Cook Off Trophy!

This event is produced by Children’s Wishes, a local Non-Profit organization dedicated to providing life enhancing experiences to children facing significant medical challenges.

Once your application is received, you will be contacted to review additional details and information. At that time, you will also schedule a 1-2 hour appointment to share your dish in the preliminary round with a Children Wishes Chef/Judge.


